The Land, Kawichí in Rarámuri ra'icha, is where RTL started their work. We worked at 12400 Big Tujunga Canyon MRCA space and Oro Vista MRCA Space to document native and invasive plants, and remove invasives after consultation with trusted organizations and culture bearers.
The local Indigenous people of this part of Southern California are the Chumash, Tongva, Tataviam, and Serrano. These peoples deserve more stewardship, autonomy, and connection to the land and we are happy to have connected with culture bearers from these nations. We continue work with them today on arts and educational projects.
